Assessment Writers – $40.00 Per Hour
Educators Rising is seeking experienced assessment item writers as we work to update and redesign our lesson assessments in our curriculum. The Educators Rising Curriculum emphasizes fundamental teaching practices that are critical for high school students to develop as they take their first steps on the path to becoming accomplished professionals. Lesson topics are based on the Educators Rising Standards and are organized into five domains:
- You.
- Your Students.
- Your Classroom.
- Your Community.
- Your Profession.
Successful candidates will have experience in creating various types of items based on provided content, expected educational outcomes, and/or job-task analysis. They will have excellent written skills, be detail-oriented, and deadline driven.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Produce accurate, concise items in various formats for Educators Rising curricula and assessments in accordance with item specifications
- Perform quality control of test items to ensure validity, degree of difficulty, accuracy in spelling and grammar and application of national testing standards
- Work with curriculum writers to ensure consistency in correlation with related content, learning outcomes, format and style
- Keep up with trends in item writing to produce items that align
- Review and revise previously developed assessment items
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor’s Degree minimum with a strong preference toward graduate level experience and education.
- Previous experience in assessment writing.
- Minimum three years’ experience in item writing.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PPT, Outlook, Excel).

ESSENTIAL QUALITIES:
- Knowledge of assessment methodologies, practices, principles as well as standardized testing requirements.
- Detail-oriented with proven follow through on projects.
- Proficiency in time management.
- Exceptional spelling and grammar skills.
COMPENSATION:
This is a contract position with PDK International starting at $40 per hour for project-based work. Hours will vary based on assigned projects.
