Animation Script Writer

We are an indie creative studio, seeking a part-time contract Writer to support the development of character-driven stories across animation and webtoons. This is a three-month contract role with a fixed monthly rate of $2,600.
The Writer will work closely with the Lead Writer and Chief Creative & Operations Officer to develop scripts, scenes, character moments, and worldbuilding materials. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborative storytelling, adapts well to feedback, and can write within an established tone and structure.
- What You’ll Do
- Writing and Story Development
- Write scripts, scenes, dialogue, and story materials as assigned
- Follow established tone, voice, world rules, and character direction
- Revise and polish drafts based on notes from senior creative leadership
- Maintain continuity across episodes or installments
- Support the overall creative direction and narrative goals of each project
- Writers’ Room & Collaboration
- Participate in writers’ room discussions and brainstorming sessions
- Help identify continuity issues and suggest story solutions
- Communicate progress clearly and reliably
- Collaborate with concept artists, storyboard artists, and production staff
- Worldbuilding & Documentation
- Contribute to franchise bibles, character sheets, and lore documents
- Keep shared drafts and reference materials organized
- Follow established continuity and worldbuilding guidelines
- Qualifications
- Experience writing for animation, comics/webtoon, television, film, or narrative games
- Strong dialogue, pacing, structure, and character development skills
- Ability to write in an established voice and respond well to feedback
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, remote creative environment
- Able to manage deadlines and contribute consistent weekly deliverables
