We are seeking a talented Soap Writer to join our dynamic team and produce engaging content about popular soap operas. This role involves consistently creating features, news articles, recaps and spoilers focusing on major American soaps such as General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives and Beyond The Gates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write 4-5 articles daily.
- Provide insightful analysis of soap opera drama.
- Monitor daily controversies and news around the shows and stay updated on every episode, having watched them in person.
- Track social media trends and utilize Google Trends.
- Pitch interesting story ideas.
- Be open to editorial feedback.
- Meet deadlines and be available for real-time coverage when needed.
- Ensure timely delivery of content to meet publication schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or Mass Communication is preferred.
- 2 years+ of experience in entertainment reporting is preferred.
- Avid daily soap enthusiast and fan with a passion for the above-mentioned shows is a must.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
- Regular viewership of at least two U.S. soaps and within the past two years, with thorough knowledge of their characters, plots, history, tonality and recent developments.
