About the Role
We’re looking for a strategic, creative, and trend-aware Social Media Specialist to lead The CE Shop’s organic social media presence. In this role, you will serve as the business owner for organic social strategy, exercising independent judgment to align social media initiatives with broader marketing goals, brand strategy, and business priorities.
You will oversee and direct external agency partners and collaborate cross-functionally to translate integrated marketing plans into effective, platform-specific social strategies. This position plays a key role in influencing campaign performance by delivering insights, identifying opportunities, and recommending strategic adjustments based on data and market trends.
What You’ll Do
Social Strategy & Agency Collaboration
- Serve as the primary point of accountability between The CE Shop and our external social media agency, exercising independent judgment to ensure the organic content strategy and calendar are aligned with integrated marketing plans and business objectives.
- Provide strategic direction to agency partners and internal teams on content themes, messaging priorities, and platform-specific execution.
- Exercise discretionary authority to review, evaluate, and approve agency content, ensuring alignment with brand standards, campaign goals, and business priorities.
- Own the development and ongoing management of a yearly social media strategy and content calendar, making strategic adjustments based on business needs, performance insights, and market trends.
Content & Creative
- Develop and guide social content strategy, including writing on-brand copy and providing clear creative direction for visuals, graphics, and video assets.
- Analyze social media trends, platform updates, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and inform content strategy.
- Recommend and champion new content formats, platform strategies, and creative approaches based on audience insights and performance data.
- Ensure all social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn) reflect platform-specific best practices and align with broader marketing strategy.
- Evaluate emerging platforms (including Threads, Pinterest, and others) and make strategic recommendations regarding adoption, investment, and approach.
Paid Social Support
- Partner with paid media stakeholders to ensure alignment between organic and paid social strategies.
- Provide input on ad creative, audience targeting approaches, and campaign performance, contributing insights that support overall marketing effectiveness.
- Maintain working knowledge of paid social trends and performance drivers to inform integrated strategy recommendations.
Reporting & Analytics
- Own social media performance measurement and reporting across all active channels using Sprout Social or similar platforms.
- Develop and deliver recurring performance insights (weekly/monthly), analyzing trends related to reach, engagement, audience growth, and content effectiveness.
- Apply data analysis and business judgment to recommend optimizations, refine strategy, and influence marketing decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Participate in marketing planning processes, providing social-first insights and recommendations that influence broader campaign strategy and execution.
- Ensure alignment between social storytelling, promotional priorities, brand voice, and audience segmentation.
- Establish guidelines for community engagement, using audience interactions and feedback to inform content strategy while escalating sensitive issues as appropriate.
What We’re Looking For
2+ years of experience in social media strategy, digital marketing, or content planning with increasing responsibility.
Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions that impact content strategy, campaign alignment, and performance outcomes.
Strong understanding of social media platforms and how content strategy varies across each.
Experience using analytics and performance data to inform recommendations and strategy adjustments.
Ability to manage external vendors or agency partners and provide clear strategic direction.
Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to align messaging to brand and business objectives.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple strategic priorities simultaneously.
Basic familiarity with paid social platforms (Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, etc.) and how paid and organic strategies integrate.
