Job Description
We are seeking a creative, organized, and adaptable Social Media & Content Assistant to help support our organic and paid social media efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating content, brainstorming new ideas, staying up to date with social media trends, and helping turn ideas into engaging posts, reels, stories, and ads.
The Social Media & Content Assistant will work closely with our team to come up with content ideas for Facebook and Instagram, support our organic social media strategy, assist with paid ad creative, and help edit short-form video content such as reels and stories. This person may also help support email campaign content from time to time.
This position offers flexible scheduling options while still requiring consistent daily availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Help brainstorm and organize content ideas for Facebook and Instagram
- Assist with organic social media strategy, including post ideas, captions, reels, stories, and engagement-focused content
- Support paid ad strategy by helping develop creative ideas, hooks, ad concepts, and content variations
- Edit short-form video content for reels, stories, and social media ads
- Research social media trends, content formats, and ideas that could help grow our following
- Help create and organize a simple content calendar
- Collaborate with the team to turn educational, client-focused, or promotional ideas into social media content
- Assist with writing or editing captions, post copy, and ad copy
- Help repurpose longer videos, testimonials, trainings, and written content into shorter clips, posts, reels, stories, and ad creative
- Support email campaign content as needed
- Track basic performance of social media posts, reels, stories, and ads to help identify what content is resonating with the audience
- Maintain organized files, notes, and content ideas for future use
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong creativity and ability to come up with new content ideas
- Excellent written communication skills
- Comfortable using Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms
- Organized and able to manage multiple content projects at once
- Reliable daily availability for approximately 2-3 hours per day
- Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and marketing strategies
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly
- Comfortable receiving feedback and revising content based on brand direction, performance, and team input
- Professional, positive, and team-focused attitude
- Basic computer proficiency
Preferred, Not Required
- Experience managing social media accounts for a business, brand, or organization
- Experience creating or editing reels, stories, or short-form video content
- Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Instagram Reels, Facebook Ads, Meta Business Suite, or similar tools
- Experience helping with paid social media ads or ad creative
- Experience writing captions, email content, or marketing copy
- Experience repurposing long-form video content into short-form social media clips
- Interest in personal finance, budgeting, financial education, or coaching
