Lead Scriptwriter | Vertmix Studio – $100-$300 Per Project
We are looking for an experienced Script Writer to join our growing creative team. This role is ideal for someone who understands teen-to-adult comedy, can build strong stories, and knows how to write dialogue that feels natural, funny, and entertaining.
The right candidate should be able to take an idea and turn it into a complete script with a clear story, strong pacing, memorable characters, and humour that connects with younger and adult audiences.
Responsibilities
The Script Writer will be responsible for:
- Creating original story concepts, outlines, and full scripts
- Writing funny, engaging dialogue for teen and adult audiences
- Developing characters with clear personalities, motivations, and growth
- Building comedic situations that feel natural and entertaining
- Understanding pacing, timing, and structure for comedy-based content
- Collaborating with the creative team to improve ideas, jokes, and scenes
- Taking feedback and making revisions quickly
- Helping shape the overall tone and direction of projects
- Creating scripts that are easy for production teams, actors, or editors to follow
Requirements
Candidates must have:
- Proven experience writing comedy scripts, short-form content, YouTube-style scripts, skits, shows, or similar projects
- Strong understanding of teen-to-adult humour
- Ability to create a complete story with a beginning, middle, and end
- Ability to write dialogue that feels realistic, funny, and character-driven
- Strong sense of comedic timing, pacing, and joke structure
- Experience developing characters over a story or series
- Ability to write in different voices for different characters
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work with a team
- Portfolio or samples of previous scriptwriting work
Nice to Have
- Experience writing for YouTube, TikTok, short films, animation, gaming content, or online entertainment
- Experience writing comedy for younger audiences without making it feel childish
- Understanding of internet culture, trends, and creator-style content
- Experience working with creative teams, editors, actors, or content creators
- Ability to pitch new ideas and improve existing concepts
