Heavy Sports is seeking experienced, driven NFL contributing writers. We’re looking for entrepreneurial journalists who can own a beat and build loyal followings of fans hungry for up-to-the-minute coverage. We’re looking for contributors eager to shape the conversation and become a go-to source for insight and breaking news around their team.
What We’re Looking For
- Deep NFL knowledge with a focus on one or more specific teams. We’re specifically looking for writers with expertise in one or more of these teams: San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans
- Proven digital experience with a track record of generating traffic and engagement and building an audience.
- Speed and accuracy: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can react quickly to breaking news.
- Sharp news instincts: You should be able to quickly identify and pursue the most important and high-impact stories on and off the field. You’re plugged in to the pulse of the NFL and can surface breaking and trending stories before the competition.
- Clean, sharp writing: Polished, accurate copy delivered under deadline pressure.
- Self-motivation: You can manage your own schedule and consistently deliver.
