Organic Content Strategist
I’m looking for someone to own the content engine behind a personal brand on Instagram — research, ideation, scripting, and briefing — and work alongside a video editor to get finished videos published.
This isn’t a “post 3x a week and hope” job. The bar is content that actually performs: ideas grounded in what’s already working in the niche, hooks that stop the scroll, and scripts tight enough that every line earns the next one.
You’ll be the person who decides what gets made and why. The editor makes it look good. You make it work.
What you’ll do
Research what’s working. Study the niche constantly — top-performing creators, formats, hooks, comment sections, emerging trends. Build and maintain a running swipe file. Come to every planning session with a point of view on why something popped, not just that it did.
Generate ideas. Turn that research into a stocked, prioritized idea bank. Ideas should be specific and angle-first, not topics (“here’s the hook and the turn,” not “something about AI tools”).
Write the scripts. Short-form scripts (roughly 30–60 seconds) written for the ear, not the page. Strong cold open, one clear idea, no filler. You’ll get voice guidelines and past scripts to calibrate against, and you’ll be expected to nail the voice within a few rounds.
Build the briefs. Turn each script into a brief the editor can execute without a follow-up call: shot direction, b-roll and screen-recording notes, on-screen text, pacing, reference examples, thumbnail/cover direction where relevant.
Work with the editor and ship. Hand off, review cuts, give specific feedback, get the final video posted — including captions, hashtags, and posting cadence. You own the workflow end to end.
Track and learn. Review performance weekly. Which hooks held retention, which formats died, what to double down on. Feed those learnings back into the next batch of ideas.
What I’m looking for
- 1–3 years writing or strategizing short-form content — as a creator, at an agency, or in-house for a founder or personal brand
- A portfolio of scripts you wrote and content you helped make. Numbers help, but taste matters more than vanity metrics
- Genuine fluency in short-form. You should be able to watch a reel and immediately articulate why it worked structurally
- Strong writing. Conversational, punchy, zero corporate voice, no hype language
- Self-directed. Part-time and remote means nobody is checking your calendar — you manage your own pipeline and hit deadlines
- Comfortable in a fast, iterative loop where ideas get killed quickly and feedback is direct
- Bonus: you’re already deep in the tech/business creator space, or you’ve written for someone whose face is on camera
Logistics
- Part-time, fully remote, flexible hours
- Async-first with a weekly sync
- Compensation discussed during the interview process — competitive and based on experience
