Educational Content Editor – $35-$45 per hour




StandWithUs is an international, nonprofit, and nonpartisan Israel education organization that works to inspire and educate people of all ages about Israel, as well as challenge misinformation and fight antisemitism. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Los Angeles, StandWithUs has chapters and programs throughout the U.S., Israel, the UK, Canada, South Africa, Brazil, Australia, and the Netherlands.

Position Summary

The StandWithUs Research & Strategy Department creates educational materials, provides customized research, and empowers activists around the world to implement effective strategies for telling Israel’s story, countering misinformation, and fighting antisemitism. Reporting to the Executive Director of Research & Strategy, the Educational Content Editor will write and edit a variety of educational materials and other content to meet the needs of the organization. This is a part-time position, with the possibility of full-time employment in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit and fact-check drafts of written materials created by various StandWithUs departments, such as web pages, articles, social media content, booklets, factsheets, presentations, and statements.
  • Identify powerful and appropriate imagery to accompany written materials.
  • Address complex issues in simple language that is widely understood, without losing meaning, nuance, or accuracy. This includes paying exceptional attention to detail, recognizing when more information or evidence is necessary to complete a project, and doing additional research as needed.
  • Adapt and build on existing StandWithUs resources and messaging. This includes framing controversial issues in a non-partisan manner, in line with the mission of the organization.
  • Communicate consistently and professionally with colleagues, partner organizations, students, and other StandWithUs stakeholders.

If needed, assist in the planning and execution of local, regional, and national conferences, events, and summits.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. required.
  • High level writing and editing skills, including an ability to communicate complex ideas in factual and straight forward language to the widest possible audience.
  • Experience creating multimedia communications and educational content
  • Deep knowledge about Israel and antisemitism, and passion for the mission of StandWithUs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong research skills, with a commitment to finding answers to research questions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, reliable, team player, proactive, strong work ethic, leadership skills, and ability to multitask.
  • A high degree of creativity and flexibility in order to meet organizational objectives and demands.
  • Demonstrated project management, supervisory and time management skills.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency with AI platforms, MS Office, Google Drive and other applications.

Salary range: $35-$45 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

 

Position Location: Flexible within the United States.

 

Position Start Date: Immediately upon hire.
