Long-Form Docu-Style Scriptwriter – $330-$550 Per Project
We are looking for a world-class storyteller to help us build the next titan in the business documentary space. You won’t just be writing “scripts”—you will be crafting 20 to 40-minute cinematic experiences. Our goal is to dissect the world’s most powerful figures, businesses, and scandals with the visual flair of a Netflix documentary and the aggressive retention of a viral YouTube video.
If you study the pacing of MagnatesMedia, the investigative depth of Fern, and the ruthless “hook-and-deliver” style of SunnyV2, you are exactly who we are looking for.
Key Responsibilities
- Deep-Dive Research: Conduct exhaustive research on complex business topics, financial scandals, and entrepreneur biographies. You must be able to find the “hidden gems”—the small details that make a story legendary.
- Retention-First Architecture: Design scripts with a primary focus on Average View Duration (AVD). You will utilize “Open Loops,” “Pattern Interrupts,” and high-stakes transitions to ensure viewers stay through the 40-minute mark.
- Masterful Storytelling: Transform dry business data into a high-stakes narrative. You must be able to build clear “Hero/Villain” arcs, create mounting tension, and execute satisfying emotional or intellectual climaxes.
- The “Golden Hook”: Craft the first 60–90 seconds of the script to be unskippable. Every word in the intro must serve the purpose of selling the “why” to the viewer.
- Visual Direction: Include “Visual Cues” or “B-Roll suggestions” within the script to guide our editors on how to emphasize your words.
Job Requirements
- Proven Long-Form Track Record: Experience writing scripts for YouTube videos longer than 15 minutes that have maintained high retention.
- Business Literacy: You should comfortably understand concepts like VC funding, market manipulation, and corporate ego—and be able to explain them simply to a layperson.
- The “SunnyV2” Edge: A talent for “Punchy” writing. You know how to use short, impactful sentences to keep the energy high.
- The “MagnatesMedia” Grandeur: The ability to write with a “voice” that feels prestigious, mysterious, and authoritative.
- Editorial Independence: You are a self-starter who can take a broad topic (e.g., “The Untold Story Of Elon Musk”) and return with a fully-fleshed-out, 6,000-word masterpiece without hand-holding.
