Technical Writer – Tax Credit Regulations
On behalf of our financial services client, Client is searching for a Technical Writer – Tax Credit Regulations for a permanent role. This position is a remote position located in the United States.
Job Description:
The role involves leading meetings with software and engineering subject matter experts to support clients during R&D credit reviews. The position requires reviewing and drafting technical memoranda documenting how client engineering projects qualify for US R&D tax credits. Additionally, you will assist in managing and delivering large projects.
Responsibilities:
• Lead software and other engineering subject matter expert meetings and support clients during R&D credit reviews
• Review and draft technical memorandum documenting how client engineering projects qualify for US R&D tax credits
• Assist in managing and delivering large projects
Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field discipline
• Proven experience in computer science, IT, or technical management, including competencies in software development, hardware development, and IT systems
• Working knowledge of current development technologies including web development, XML, Java, JavaScript, C#, AI tools, database technologies, open source, mobile apps, and other related technologies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills combined with intellectual curiosity and creative problem-solving abilities
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Knowledge of R&D tax credit issues
• Technical skills with research tax credit regulations
• Proficiency in client relationship management
• Automation and digitization proficiency
• Prior experience with US R&D tax credits, including preparing and supporting engineering or software-based R&D credit studies
Assignment Length:
This is a 6+-month contract position.
