Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for copywriters who love to write every day and don’t mind doing some research. We need detail-oriented proofreaders who smile with smug satisfaction every time they catch an error before it goes live and hyperventilate when they find a mistake that’s already been published. Organized people who can work within a well-crafted organizational system fit in well with our team, as do fast-paced creators who can meet deadlines while producing high-quality results and not get bogged down in tasks that can be easily automated. We’re also looking for communicators who can clearly convey concepts and express concerns to team members
What you’d be doing
You’ll be producing and editing copy for blog articles, social media posts, marketing emails, product packaging, websites, sales materials, and more for industries ranging from marketing to software to legal compliance, using modern tools for rapid research and composition.
You’ll be working with our marketing director (a professional copywriter) and other creative individuals who will offer you tasks, work with you on ideas, and provide constructive criticism of your writing. You’ll be creating high-quality copy to help elevate products and services and will be encouraged to write in a fun, engaging way (because boring copy can’t compete).
The amount of work we’ll have available for you will vary week-to-week, and what time of the day or night you work — weekdays or weekends — is up to you.
What skills & attributes you need
We’re looking for candidates based in the U.S. who have a very strong knowledge of the English language. We need writers who have the ability to write well without relying on AI tools and yet know how to use AI as a research tool to speed up production. We’re also looking for a willingness to edit AI copy that’s been provided in order to improve on it significantly. In other words, we need humans who can write better than robots. The ability to convey information in a way that holds readers’ interests is paramount, as well as the ability to write in a way that makes content stand out from the generic AI slop that’s flooding the marketplace. We crave content with creativity and imagination. Professional long-form and short-form writing experience and proofreading experience are required. Please provide a solid portfolio of writing samples.
What would help you look even more qualified
Experience writing copy for blog articles, social media posts, marketing emails, product packaging, websites, and sales materials is a huge plus, as well as a marketing background. If you have awards and certifications related to writing and proofreading, that helps, too.
