Position Overview
Hedy & Hopp is looking for a Copywriter to join our growing organization. This person will be responsible for the copy development for creative campaigns & marketing materials, as well as supporting our clients’ organic content needs. Our ideal candidate brings creative thinking and a big picture perspective to their work, while also possessing the ability to execute specific copywriting assignments with excellence. The Copywriter will be responsible for understanding our clients’ business goals and audience mindsets to develop branded content and execute copywriting projects across creative and technical assignments. This person is excited to leverage technology to strengthen their work, and has a desire to grow in their creative writing and content strategy skills.
Responsibilities/Areas of Focus:
- Development and direction across a variety of writing projects, ranging from blogs and online articles to promotional materials and advertisements
- Lead all campaign & promotional copy development for our clients
- Translate concepts and brand narratives into audience-focused language and wording that engages and inspires action
- Develop copy across a wide variety of owed and paid media tactics, including, but not limited to, brand narratives, taglines, paid media ads, radio/video scripts, OOH, direct mail, emails, and SMS/Text, short- and long-form articles, and social media posts
- Make strategic written and verbal decisions based on the project deliverable and desired outcome
- Collaborate with Design & Strategy to ensure cohesion in the final deliverable(s)
- Oversee freelancer copywriting assignments as needed
- Assist with a variety of H&H corporate marketing needs, such as website copy, advertising assets, award submissions, etc.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to deliver on client expectations and needs
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s in writing, creative writing, English, journalism, or other related degrees. Healthcare marketing is not required, but a plus
- 3-6 years of related experience, preferably in both promotional and organic areas
- The ability to generate a reliable supply of original ideas
- Portfolio of work across brand and campaign creation, messaging, and tactical output
- Ability to present and discuss copywriting and strategy during client calls as the subject matter expert
- Ability to iterate solutions efficiently and intelligently
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate the writing processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting, including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design solutions
- Experience managing contractors or direct reports preferred
- Healthcare industry experience is a plus
