Bay Smokes is one of the fastest-growing hemp and cannabis lifestyle brands in the U.S., with multiple sub-brands expanding nationwide. We’re dedicated to crafting premium cannabis experiences and speaking authentically to the community we serve.
We’re looking for a Content & Email Copywriter who will be the voice of Bay Smokes. This person will write persuasive, on-brand copy across our emails, website, blogs, and ads, ensuring our messaging connects with real smokers, drives sales, and builds loyalty.
What You’ll Do
• Email Marketing Copy
• Write subject lines, body copy, and CTAs for campaigns and automated flows (welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, loyalty, win-back).
• Collaborate with our design/execution team to make sure every email drives engagement and revenue.
• Content Strategy & SEO
• Write social media captions
• Refresh existing website content with conversion-focused, authentic cannabis copy.
• Develop geo-targeted blogs and educational posts to support SEO and organic traffic growth.
• Ensure content is consistent, accurate, and compliant while still fun and compelling.
• Brand Voice & Culture
• Stay on top of cannabis culture and evolving industry terms.
• Be the subject matter expert to ensure all copy — emails, web, product pages, ads, and even microcopy — resonates with real cannabis consumers.
• Collaboration
• Work closely with in-house marketing leaders to plan promotions, product launches, and campaigns.
• Partner with the offshore design/ops team to align strategy, copy, and execution.
What We’re Looking For
• 3+ years of copywriting experience for e-commerce brands (email + web).
• Strong portfolio showing conversion-focused email and content work.
• Excellent understanding of funnels, customer journeys, and persuasive copywriting.
• Experience with SEO content and keyword optimization.
• Cannabis knowledge and passion are a must — ideally, you’re a consumer who speaks the language authentically.
• Adaptable and curious — eager to learn as the space evolves and become a true subject matter expert.
• Collaborative and detail-oriented; comfortable juggling multiple projects at once.
Compensation
•$6,500/month (≈$78,000/year) base salary.
