We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Writer (S2) to join our B2B marketing team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with business experts and creative teams to develop compelling, compliant, and high-profile content that explains how and why we are different from other providers serving institutional investors and retirement plan sponsors.
This is a critical position for driving action and growth within our existing client base, prospects, and consultants. Strong candidates will thrive on translating complex financial concepts into promotional messages that spur action from target audiences.
Core Responsibilities
- Content Strategy & Oversight: Contribute and oversee content creation from the planning or draft stage to completion. Assist with evaluating and fine-tuning project scope, content strategy, requirements, and deadlines.
- Creative Development: Brainstorm and develop creative concepts in collaboration with clients and colleagues, leveraging a deep understanding of the business and industry.
- Compliance & Review: Produce complex or high-profile B2B marketing materials in strict compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate standards. Gather and incorporate feedback from editors, subject matter experts (SMEs), and legal partners.
- Mentorship & Style Leadership: Serve as a mentor to less experienced writers, providing specific feedback on their copy, story ideas, and content formatting. Teach and enforce our organizational writing style and standards across the team.
- Industry Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the assigned industry (institutional retirement/401(k) recordkeeping) and of our products, processes, and services.
- Adaptation: Respond to edits and changes from SMEs and regulators with flexibility, while maintaining the final content’s quality and accuracy.
What It Takes
Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of related professional writing or content creation experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality content from existing positioning and creative briefs, focusing on promotional messaging that drives action.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with financial or institutional B2B content, specifically in the 401(k) recordkeeping or retirement services space.
- Demonstrated experience across diverse content formats, including: advertising copywriting, video scripts, UX writing, and multimedia content creation.
- Experience utilizing Generative AI tools to enhance efficiency within the content creation and production process.
This role requires initiative and creativity in identifying and meeting client needs while serving as a champion for quality and compliance standards.
