With over 30 locations throughout the U.S. and treatment options available virtually, ERC Pathlight meets patients where they’re at to offer innovative, compassionate, and comprehensive treatment for eating disorders, as well as mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders.
We were founded in 2008 by pre-eminent psychiatrists and psychologists and treat 6,000+ patients per year. With the critical need for mental health care and eating disorder treatment, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re looking for passionate and qualified professionals who will live out our mission to help save the lives of our patients.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is by no means a “behind-the-scenes” role, as your work will help the company serve patients daily in a multitude of ways.
Eating Recovery Center and Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center want a seasoned copywriter with a passion for mental health to join our marketing team. This person will collaborate with our marketing and clinical teams to write copy for a wide range of formats and audiences, including campaigns and major projects. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role will be a key contributor to our marketing team.
Who are we looking for?
A storyteller and word enthusiast who can turn complex, nuanced mental health topics into relatable and engaging content. This position will channel their empathy and writing savvy into meaningful work while collaborating with our marketing and clinical teams to write copy for a wide range of formats and audiences.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead copy development for integrated campaigns across all formats (emails, collateral, print ads, blogs, video scripts, social media ads, web copy) and audiences (B2B and B2C)
- Collaborate with our marketing, clinical and design partners every step of the way
- Interview and collaborate with our clinical experts to develop long-form content on complex mental health topics, including articles, case studies, white papers, digital newsletters and other substantive content
- Understand company goals and define key messaging to ensure consistent communications for our audiences
- Develop and serve as a thought partner on campaign concepts, titles and themes
- Partner with our internal communications team to create engaging content for our diverse staff
- Refine and adhere to brand tone for all audiences
- Stay up to date on SEO best practices for blogs and web copy
- Manage multiple projects at one time and adhere to project deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related field required
- Superb writing, editing and proofreading skills with a minimum of 5 years copywriting experience
- Experience writing for both professional and consumer audiences
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong research and fact-checking skills
- Exemplary project management skills and oral communications skills
- Experience writing in health care and/or the mental health field preferred
- AP Style writing/editing knowledge preferred

Compensation starting range for the Sr Mental Health Copywriter role is $75,000 to $90,000. Ranges are based upon market expectations and are dependent upon candidate experience.
