Part-time Editor
The Shingo Institute in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business is seeking a part-time Editor to support the creation and refinement of high-quality written content for books, newsletters, press releases, websites, and other publications. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator with a keen eye for detail and a strong command of grammar and style. This remote position requires 20–25 hours of work per week. Candidate must maintain strict confidentiality and sign a non-disclosure agreement. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced editor who thrives in a flexible remote environment and is passionate about producing clear, accurate, and brand-aligned content.
This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah. Telework outside of the state of Utah is subject to review and approval by the University prior to a job offer being extended.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and revise written content across various platforms, including books, newsletters, and websites.
- Edit and unify feedback reports from multiple authors into a single, consistent voice.
- Review and correct text for spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity, and word usage.
- Ensure all content aligns with the Shingo Institute’s brand integrity, tone, and language style.
- Fact-check content to ensure consistency and accuracy across materials.
- Analyze and revise content for readability and effectiveness.
- Draft press releases and other communications.
- Rewrite and restructure copy to enhance reader comprehension.
- Provide constructive editorial feedback and suggestions.
- Approve and finalize content for publication.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong writing, grammar, and editing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Must be a US citizen due to the need to access data related to U.S. government agencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Adobe InDesign.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing terminology.
- Familiarity with the Shingo Model.

You will be working from home. Staff meetings are scheduled each Monday. You will work out a work schedule with your supervisor.
We will provide you with a laptop to work on.
