Title: Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist
Job Description:
Creates clear, concise, and accurate documentation to support deployment, user training, and technical understanding. Develops architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user guides to facilitate effective communication of complex systems and processes. Collaborates with subject matter experts, engineers, and project teams to ensure documentation is aligned with system functionality and stakeholder needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Author and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, user guides, training materials, and architecture diagrams.
- Translate complex technical information into clear and user-friendly content.
- Collaborate with technical teams to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy.
- Ensure consistency in terminology, style, and formatting across all documents.
- Update and manage documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills:
- Technical documentation and writing
- Development of SOPs and user guides
- Diagram creation (e.g., architecture and workflow diagrams)
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, Visio)
Experience:
- 2+ years in a technical writing or documentation role
Certifications / Credentialing:
- CompTIA Project+ or equivalent (preferred)
- DoDM 8140.03 Qualified
