Writer, Switchboard Magazine

Switchboard Magazine is looking for longform non-fiction, character driven, pitches in a couple of specific areas:

– Texas based stories, ideally crime or wacky worlds/people (think stories that you might find in Texas Monthly)

– Stories about/in the world of marijuana. These cannot be survey stories or issue pieces – these must be character driven stories where marijuana is an element of the story/setting/backdrop etc. For example: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/04/23/the-maraschino-moguls-secret-life

– Quirky crime stories with small towns backdrops (think Parks and Rec if there was a murder/heist/etc)
