Engineering News-Record (ENR), the leading source of news and data for the construction industry—now in its 151st year of publication—is looking for a journalist to monitor and report on breaking news for ENR.com, with a focus on daily news articles to drive web traffic and increase the brand’s value. The editor will support and collaborate with the deputy news editor, the national beat editors and regional editors on coverage of breaking news and current events. This online editor will also help execute ENR’s social media strategy, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram.

The successful candidate will be able to quickly assemble compelling and factual news stories on the important news stories of the day. You should be able to work well under pressure, adhere to deadlines and multi-task on multiple stories at once, while adhering to ENR’s goal to help industry professionals be effective in their work and enable their employers to gain a competitive edge.
Experience should include at least three years of interviewing sources, reporting and writing news or working on the staff of a daily newspaper, website, consumer magazine or B2B publication. Top candidates will be self-starters able to work full time from either a home office or office setting. They should possess a positive attitude and a passion for news, trends and analysis. Ability to speak in public—to moderate webinars or panels at live events—is helpful.
