Position Type: Contract/Freelance
Compensation: $5,000 per full-year course. Compensation will be prorated depending on the number of units written.
Are you a passionate and experienced Christian educator with a clear understanding of a biblical worldview? Do you have a track for crafting an engaging and effective curriculum? If so, we invite you to join our team at Enlightium.ai and play a crucial role in shaping the educational journey of 7th-grade students as we work on expanding our curriculum. Enlightium.ai is a sister company of Enlightium Academy (EA) and was formed in 2021 as a contracting agency to support private Christian schools.
Job Description:
As a 7th-grade English Curriculum Writer at Enlightium.ai, you’ll have the opportunity to develop a biblically grounded curriculum for online usage. You will be responsible for developing engaging, age-appropriate content that aligns with our educational mission, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), and our partner school’s unique Expected Student Outcomes (ESOs). Our aim is to create courses that foster both creative and critical thinking in how the information is presented and consumed. Additionally, we utilize AI tools to enhance the curriculum development process.
Responsibilities:
- Create written and visual content for a 7th-grade English Curriculum
- Ensure biblical presuppositions ground and guide the curriculum to foster character development and spiritual growth
- Ensure alignment of the curriculum with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards
- Incorporate our partner school’s unique Expected Student Outcomes (ESOs) into the curriculum
- Collaborate with AI tools and technologies to enhance the development and delivery of curriculum materials
- Develop assessments and projects to support effective teaching and learning
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Director and other team members to ensure alignment with educational goals and standards
- Create content for the course spending approximately 2 weeks per Unit, depending on availability
- Embrace and encourage ongoing, constructive feedback with an optimistic and receptive attitude
- Utilize multiple software tools for collaboration, creation, and organization (e.g. Google Suite, Asana, Powtoon, Canva, Quizlet, Lucid, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Proven experience in curriculum development, preferably for middle school students
- Experience as a committed Christian educator
- An understanding of the Protestant biblical worldview
- Strong understanding of Christian values and their priority in an educational context
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Proficiency in research and staying up-to-date with educational best practices
- Willingness and ability to collaborate with AI tools and technologies to enhance curriculum development
- Have experience with LMS systems such as Canvas, Angel, Blackboard, etc.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
