Who you are:
An experienced healthcare writer who is skilled in their craft, meticulous in their work, conceptual in their thinking, and amenable to both team dynamics and the fluid nature of our business. The “storyteller” for their assigned brands, the copywriter partners with senior writers, and creative leaders, to properly understand and articulate the strategy within their work. All work created is clear, compelling, stylish, factually correct, and connected to a narrative structure that drives behavior change. Conceptual work is also creative and compelling, demonstrative of a deep understanding of the value of the brand to its target audience.
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
Writing
- Drafts copy for iterative projects based upon fully written pieces (eg, banner ads based on approved brochure)
- Reviews med-legal feedback and provides strategically based recommendations to client on how to evolve piece, based on brand knowledge and med-legal point of view
- Adheres to brand guidelines and style sheets provided by editorial
- As needed, works independently with medical writer and strategist to ensure content is aligned to current medical story and strategy, and to make edits as needed
Concept
- Partner with an art director to develop compelling creative concepts
Presenting
- Presents tactics to the internal team and to client
Team Interaction/ Management
- Attends Creative meetings
- Attends internal meetings for assigned brands
- Attends Client meetings as an observer
- Archives completed copy documents in iMeet
- Maintains up-to-date copy documents throughout project lifecycle
Product and Content Knowledge
- Thoroughly understands product category and competitors, as well as key data sets
- Able to articulate how the disease works, the product works, and the story of the brand
Strategy
- Remains focused on details but seeks understanding of bigger picture of clients’ objectives and initiatives.
Business Development
- Supports senior writers on new business pitches as needed
Creative and Agency Leadership
- Proactively seeks to understand the greater process of the agency and the function of each department
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelors’ degree
- 2 years in healthcare writing to a target audience
- An appropriate portfolio
Other Required:
- May require travel domestically and/or internationally including overnight stays
- Copywriting
- Independent research
- Knowledge of Windows OS platform, including Microsoft Word
Preferred:
- Bachelors’ degree’s major in English, Writing, Business, or similar
