Victor 12 is actively hiring a Technical Writer: to support the development and maintenance of program documentation, user guides, and other related artifacts. This position is in support of the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Training Enterprise-wide Solutions and Support (VTESS) contract.
Responsibilities:
The Technical Writer collaborates with the Project Manager, Team Lead, Subject Matter Experts, and Quality Assurance (QA) Specialists to develop and update application and systems documentation and to develop materials used for knowledge transfer to Government employees. This role involves developing/maintaining user guides for software systems, developing/refining knowledge base (KB) articles, conducting independent verification/validation testing using software testing methodologies as needed, identifying/resolving documentation issues based on user feedback, and collaborating with team members to implement changes. The Technical Writer ensures documents meet customer standards and requirements in terms of functionality, usability, format, and clarity. In coordination with Victor 12 policies, all artifacts developed by the Technical Writer undergo QA review(s) to ensure consistency and compliance with program-wide standards and conventions.

Minimum Qualifications:
A successful candidate satisfies the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience OR master’s degree and 6 years of experience.
- Technical skills in the following areas:
- Microsoft (MS) Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- MS Visio or similar diagramming software.
- Documentation and validation of software user guides.
- Experience in coordinating with developers to demonstrate and recreate test findings.
- Required writing sample when submitting application.
- This position also requires the successful candidate to:
- Pass a background investigation, including FBI fingerprint check, and provide “identity-proofed” identification through authentication of two forms of government-issued identification.

- Development and execution of integration test plans.
- Network and Internet Information System experience to support documentation development and quality audits.
