Editorial Director, Digital Learning & Assessment – Estimated: $64.3K – $82.3K a year
The Editorial Director, Digital Learning & Assessment, reporting to the Senior Director of Digital Learning & Assessment will use their deep knowledge of literacy assessment and data to define and support implementation of reporting solutions for both internal and external users. A key goal of this work is to help educators understand how student performance and next steps to instruction in order to improve student outcomes. Responsibilities
- Construct reporting requirements and behind the scenes systems that make data on literacy instruction and student performance clear to content developers, teachers, and administrators
- Identify and implement systems that help teachers identify instructional priorities and what resources they can use within Benchmark programs to support individual and groups of students
- Collaborate on the construction and implementation of algorithms and cut scores that adjust content difficulty for students and provide suggested small groupings
- Define student pathways through assessments and practice activities for students
- Define metadata systems and reporting requirements for internal stakeholders for areas such as standards coverage and item analysis
- Work across content development and technology departments to understand data needs and opportunities
- Oversee the development of technical and reporting assessment guides for teachers and administrators
- Support stakeholders in PD, Marketing, and Sales to understand and communicate how data and reporting for Benchmark products can be used to support students
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in learning analytics, instructional design, and literacy focused technology-based learning environments
- Experience using quantitative and qualitative methods
- Knowledge and experience with literacy assessment data and reporting used in K-12 education
- Knowledge of literacy and learning science research and a passion for K-6 literacy education
- Ability to work collaboratively with content developers and software engineers
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Elementary literacy teaching experience preferred
