YouTube Scriptwriter – Legal & Criminal Justice Content – $200–$400 per completed script

Fundmates acquires established YouTube channels and grows them through dedicated content production teams, creative strategy, and data-driven decisions.
We’re looking for a skilled writer to create compelling, well-structured scripts for an established American YouTube channel covering real police encounters, bodycam footage, constitutional rights, and the US criminal justice system.

What You’ll Do

  • Write engaging YouTube scripts based on real police encounters and bodycam footage.
  • Transform legal research, case notes, and editorial outlines into clear, accessible commentary.
  • Follow an established channel style, including its narrative structure, tone, transitions, and pacing.
  • Explain legal concepts in natural, conversational American English without oversimplifying or distorting their meaning.
  • Maintain a neutral, fact-based approach to sensitive or controversial incidents.
  • Distinguish between documented facts, legal conclusions, and speculation.
  • Collaborate with our Lead Legal Scriptwriter and editorial team to refine scripts.
  • Incorporate editorial feedback and deliver revisions within agreed deadlines.
  • Conduct limited supplementary research and fact-checking when needed.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Demonstrated experience writing long-form YouTube scripts, documentary narratives, investigative journalism, or similarly structured nonfiction content.
  • Excellent written American English, with natural phrasing and a strong sense of rhythm, clarity, and audience engagement.
  • Proven ability to adapt your writing to an established editorial voice rather than imposing your own style.
  • Strong storytelling skills, including the ability to structure complex information into a coherent narrative.
  • Familiarity with US law, constitutional rights, criminal justice, or law enforcement topics.
  • Strong attention to factual accuracy and the ability to work with source materials.
  • Ability to work independently, respond to feedback, and meet deadlines.
  • A portfolio containing relevant published or professional writing samples.

Workload & Compensation

  • Freelance, remote collaboration.
  • Initial workload: approximately 1–2 scripts per week.
  • Typical script length: approximately 1,500–1,800 words.
  • Standard turnaround: 2–3 business days per assignment.
  • Compensation: $200–$400 per completed script, depending on the scope of work and agreed responsibilities.
  • Collaboration with an experienced legal and editorial team.

Pay: From $400.00 per week

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule
