The Assistant Policy Writer is a key player in supporting a Senior Project Manager. They update, edit, and improve existing documents, translate complex information, revise policies and procedures, and make sure they’re clear, consistent, and easy to understand. They also proofread and edit documents and write user-friendly ones. They pay close attention to detail and have excellent writing skills. They can write high-quality, formatted policies and procedures in a simple, clear, and concise way. They can also translate existing copy into easy-to-understand and implement policies. They create and update policy and manual templates.
To be successful, they need strong writing skills, exceptional editing skills, a keen eye for detail, the ability to translate technical language into clear and understandable terms, and develop knowledge of compliance and accreditation standards. Candidates should have experience in technical, procedural writing, or policy development. They should also be able to learn basic knowledge of rules, principles, methodologies and governance principles within multiple, vertical markets; i.e., educational, first responders, emergency management and municipal/county government.
Work remotely and earn $25-28 per hour, 25-30 hours per week, flexible schedule. They’re a self-starter who can work independently and navigate with autonomy. They proactively manage, provide updates on progress, re-confirm priorities, and seek clarity or help when needed. They’re strategic in thought and practical in approach.
