Writer, Snatch UP
Turn complex cases into clear, compelling narratives.
We are seeking a Narrative Writer to join our production team. This role is focused on synthesizing complex primary sources, police reports, court records, and audiovisual evidence, into high-quality, long-form scripts for a massive digital audience.
The challenge is unique: You must balance rigid factual accuracy with the art of storytelling. We need writers who can digest hours of raw material and output a script that is lucid, logically structured, and deeply engaging.
What You Will Deliver:
- Synthesis: You will break down complicated timelines and conflicting accounts into a clear narrative flow.
- Scripting: You will write detailed, production-ready scripts that guide the visual and audio experience.
- Collaboration: You will work closely with editors and producers to ensure the pacing lands and the tone is appropriate.
- Adaptability: While the focus is True Crime, you will be agile enough to tackle other real-world event topics as we expand our slate.
What You Bring:
- Proven Experience: A portfolio demonstrating long-form narrative writing (investigative pieces, podcasts, or video essays).
- Analytical Mind: The ability to look at a 50-page court document and extract the 3 pages that tell the story.
- Resilience: Comfort handling heavy, tragic, and graphic subject matter with maturity.
- Precision: A commitment to factual accuracy and timeline consistency.
