Pretty straight forward guide on how to start up a blog. I appreciate this post! Interacting with your audience is probably the best way of gaining a loyal readership. It establishes social proof and allows you to see things through the eyes of your readership.

You’re so right that you really need to have a passion behind your topic. Otherwise, it becomes a chore and many run out of ideas to write about because their heart (and sometimes brain) just isn’t there. Some people just go for a niche that seems to be profitable. But, if you don’t know the topic and don’t love it, it will take much longer and you won’t be able to add much value and will quickly fizzle out.

      Hi Richard!

I definitely agree with you about the topic you love and know. It’s very important when you choose such creative work like blogging. However, even then there can be periods when you run out of ideas, you just need to understand this and find a way to pass it faster.

    Hi Laura,

As a blogger, it’s definitely important to have passion about the topic you choose to blog about. In my personal opinion, I’ve found that it’s easier to write content for something that I know and love.

The great thing is that you don’t have to be an expert in your niche. Sure it may be easier if you are an expert, but you don’t have to wait until you’re an expert.

Blog promotion is huge and I waited too long to start promoting my blog. Now I make it a point to get out and promote my blog every day.

If a blogger takes the time to implement the tasks that you recommend, there’s no reason why they won’t see the success they want.

Thanks for taking the time to share, have a great day 🙂

    Susan

      Hi Susan,

      Thanks for your feedback!
For my opinion, being an expert isn’t something measurable. Some can think that he is an expert or conversely, doesn’t know enough to share, it depends on personality more. I think that blogging is more sharing your opinion and experience withe others. And together with your love to the subject, knowledge, right promotion and, of course, constant work you can succeed. 🙂

I read yesterday about “passion blogs” on one blog and that really makes sense. The best blogs are those which show that the writer is passionate about the subject. However, even the best blog posts need to be promoted. Great combination for the promotion is using the power of social networks, networking and blog commenting. Thank you for sharing Laura.

I guess blog’s design and content are the most important parts of a blog, so these should be out top focused areas.

    Thanks
