True Crime Scriptwriter | Hidden – $300-$700 Per Project
We are looking for a True Crime Scriptwriter to write compelling, high-retention scripts for a growing YouTube channel focused on real criminal cases.
You will work with official police reports and verified online sources, and craft a clear, engaging narrative that integrates bodycam footage, interrogation audio/video, and possible CCTV clips into a cohesive story.
The goal is to transform raw case materials into a professional, documentary-style script optimized for YouTube retention.
Ideal Candidate
You are someone who:
- Has a strong interest in true crime and understands how to tell real cases responsibly
- Can turn factual information into a gripping narrative without adding misinformation
- Knows how to structure stories for YouTube audience retention
- Is comfortable writing around visual cues (bodycam moments, interrogation highlights, CCTV timestamps)
- Can write in a clear, neutral, documentary tone (no over-dramatization, no fiction)
Previous experience with true crime scripts, documentaries, or long-form YouTube content is a strong plus.
Job Requirements
Ability to analyze and summarize police reports, court documents, and credible online sources
Experience writing YouTube scripts (true crime preferred)
Ability to integrate provided footage into the script
Strong research skills and fact-checking ability
Excellent English writing skills
Attention to detail and respect for real-world cases and victims
