Position Overview

Based anywhere in the U.S. the Transcription consultant will play a critical role in the development of our new Direct Student Assessment tools. You will be responsible for supporting the transcription of recordings of students engaging with our new Literacy Screener, which will ultimately help us fine tune our Automatic Speech recognition technology. This position is available to start immediately and will be available for between 20 – 40 hours a week through mid-November (with the possibility of another window of transcription in the spring).

Specific Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Segment and transcribe audio recordings of students at both the word and phoneme level for specific tasks.
  • Correct transcriptions when necessary to accurately reflect recording.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience, data entry experience a plus
  • Proficiency in distinguishing one letter sound from another, especially, vowel sounds
  • High attention to detail
  • Able to produce results independently as well as collaboratively in a cross-functional team
  • Experience working in early childhood education or educational measurement is a plus, but not necessary
