Technical Writer (Remote Opportunity)
VetsEZ is seeking a full-time remote Technical Writer to work closely with the development teams and support the deployment, management, and extension of knowledge management programs. The ideal candidate will possess both a technical background and a proven ability to deliver high-quality technical documentation. You will play a critical role in translating complex data integration and analysis concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation, particularly for VA and healthcare-focused projects.
Responsibilities:
- Create, edit, and refine IT-related documentation (manuals, reports, specifications, and presentations) with clarity and consistency.
- Collaborate with Senior Data Scientists and Analysts to document data architecture, pipelines, and workflows.
- Develop and manage communications on SDLC releases, policy changes, and data integration initiatives.
- Conduct research and interviews with technical teams to ensure accurate, user-friendly documentation.
- Create training materials, user guides, and process documentation to enhance knowledge sharing.
- Support SDLC phases by developing and maintaining User Requirements, Functional Requirements, and Design Documents.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (English, Journalism, Computer Science, etc.).
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing in IT environments.
- Strong ability to translate technical requirements into clear documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience with Change Management and SDLC phases (functional, regression, performance testing).
- Proven ability to create and maintain technical documents (e.g., code deployment, training guides).
- Software development experience (hands-on or support role).
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with VA Health Portfolio or Informatics Product Line is a plus.
- Background in Data Integration Modernizations, Secure Messaging, or Healthcare IT documentation preferred.
- Familiarity with Summit Data Platform (SDP), VA Profile, or military personnel data is beneficial.
- Ability to obtain a government clearance.
