What We’re Looking For
Trillium Health Resources has a career opening for a Social Media Specialist to join our team! The Social Media Specialist develops and executes content strategies that educate, inform, and engage members, stakeholders, providers, and the broader community around Trillium programs, services, and community impact related to mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use services. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day social media operations, content planning, and publishing; ensuring consistency with Trillium’s brand voice and messaging standards; and uses performance data and audience insights to continuously improve engagement and reach.
On a typical day, you might:
- Manage Trillium’s organic social media presence across approved platforms, including content planning, publishing, and community engagement.
- Develop and maintain a coordinated social media content calendar aligned with organizational priorities, campaigns, events, and community outreach efforts.
- Design, curate, and adapt content that is accessible, accurate, respectful, and aligned with Trillium’s mission, values, and brand standards using selected design platforms.
- Track performance metrics and prepare regular analytics reports, translating data into insights and recommendations to improve content strategy and audience engagement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure message alignment across digital, print, and in-person communications and to educate staff on social media standards and protocols.

Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED and six (6) years’ experience using social media to
- promote business communications and/or marketing; OR
- Associate’s degree and four (4) years’ experience using social media to
- promote business communications and/or marketing; OR
- Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years’ experience using social media to
- promote business communications and/or marketing; OR
- Equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must reside within Trillium’s Catchment of North Carolina. Counties included: Anson, Bertie, Beaufort, Bladen, Brunswick, Camden, Chowan, Carteret, Columbus, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Edgecombe, Gates, Greene, Guilford, Halifax, Hertford, Hoke, Hyde, Jones, Lee, Lenoir, Martin, Montgomery, Moore, Nash, New Hanover, Northampton, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Pender, Perquimans, Pitt, Randolph, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson, Scotland, Tyrrell, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Wilson.
- Must be able to travel within catchment as required.
Preferred:
- Concentration in Marketing to include Social Media, Digital Advertising, Analytics, or Digital Communications.
- Experience in graphic design platforms and software programs targeted for social media such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Figma, or equivalent (not Canva).
- Knowledge or experience related to behavioral health, mental health, developmental disabilities, or substance use services.
- Certifications and/or trainings from reputable online programs including: HubSpot, Hootsuite, LinkedIn or equivalent certifications and/or trainings.
