Social Media Community Manager – $17-20/hour
B Squared Media is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Social Media Community Manager to support and grow engagement across our clients’ digital communities.
In this role, you’ll serve as the voice of leading brands, fostering authentic conversations, delivering timely and thoughtful responses, and helping turn everyday interactions into lasting customer relationships. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment where adaptability, strong communication skills, and sound judgment are essential.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, empathetic, and passionate about social media, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to providing outstanding customer experiences when engagement matters most.

Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Monitoring
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, inquiries, and brand mentions across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.
- Foster positive community experiences using B Squared Media’s “Think Conversation” approach.
- Provide customer care-style responses when appropriate and escalate issues following project guidelines.
- Meet required response-time SLAs (within 30 minutes) while on shift.
Insights & Reporting
- Track common themes, user feedback, sentiment shifts, and noteworthy conversations.
- Submit actionable summaries to the Account Manager after each shift.
- Utilize approved social listening and monitoring tools to surface trends or emerging issues.
Process Alignment & Collaboration
- Follow all project-specific workflows, Rules of Engagement, escalation procedures, and FAQs.
- Communicate with Project Managers and Account Managers during scheduled shifts for updates, alignment, and escalations.
- Use platform tagging/labeling conventions accurately within tools like Sprout Social, Emplifi, and reputation management systems.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Complete assigned Basecamp tasks on time.
- Track billable time by project in Harvest.
- Attend required team meetings or check-ins.
- Stay up to date on all process changes, project updates, and new tasks ahead of each shift.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience managing social media communities or brand channels.
- Excellent written communication skills with strong grammar, clarity, and attention to nuance and tone.
- Ability to multitask and remain detail-oriented in fast-moving environments.
- Demonstrated empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment in customer-facing engagements.
- Reliable computer and consistent high-speed internet connection.
- Availability for holidays.
- Experience with Sprout Social, Emplifi, Basecamp, and Harvest.
- Previous remote/telecommute experience.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow structured processes.
BONUS EXPERIENCE (Not Required, but Highly Valuable)
These skills are not part of the core responsibilities for this role, but they are a plus for future opportunities or expanded project needs:
- Social media management expertise, including best practices, platform optimization, copywriting, keywords, social listening, and AI tools
- Experience beyond community management, including content planning, scheduling, and publishing
- Content creation skills (short-form video, graphic design, copywriting, photography)
- Proficiency with creative tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Understanding of paid social fundamentals, including boosting and campaign basics
- Ability to track, analyze, and optimize social media trends
Compensation
- $17–$22 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
- Availability to work scheduled shifts between Thursday at 9:00 AM EST and Sunday at 12:00 AM EST.
- Additional shifts may be available on an as-needed basis for those interested in picking up extra hours.
