Role Summary
We are looking for a Senior D2C Content Writer who can turn customer insights, product benefits, and complex research into clear, compelling copy that drives action. This is a senior role with meaningful ownership: you will help shape how our brands sound, how our products are positioned, and how educational content supports both customer trust and commercial performance.
The right person is equally comfortable writing a high-converting product page, developing an educational article, crafting compelling email copy from a strategic brief, and reviewing scientific research to substantiate a product claim. You understand that strong conversion copy does more than sell. It keeps the reader engaged, addresses real objections, communicates responsibly, and makes the value of the product easy to understand.
Key Responsibilities
- Own, maintain, and evolve brand voice guidelines across multiple brands, audiences, and product categories.
- Write and edit compelling copy for product and collection pages, landing pages, emails and automated flows, educational blogs, Amazon and Walmart listings, packaging, inserts, and retail materials.
- Work from strategies and briefs provided by the Email team to develop polished campaign and automated-flow copy, while contributing recommendations on positioning and messaging.
- Partner with the Head of Marketing to identify customer pain points, clarify product positioning, and develop content strategies for product pages, landing pages, and educational content.
- Use proven copywriting frameworks, including AIDA, to engage readers, communicate value, address objections, and drive action across different stages of customer awareness.
- Use voice-of-customer insights, reviews, surveys, competitor research, and performance data to develop stronger hooks, messaging, and content ideas.
- Collaborate with the CRO team to develop copy for new page sections and experiments, then use test results to refine future messaging.
- Conduct thorough product, category, competitor, and scientific research using credible internal and external sources.
- Translate complex scientific information into clear, persuasive customer-facing copy while maintaining organized sources to substantiate product claims.
- Write with FTC, FDA, marketplace, retail, and applicable international requirements in mind, partnering with QA and Legal when additional compliance review is needed.
- Use AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to support research, ideation, outlining, and brainstorming while independently verifying sources and taking responsibility for all final copy.
- Create translation-ready English copy and work with localization tools and native-language reviewers to verify accuracy, meaning, and brand alignment across international markets.
- Review copy from external partners when needed and independently manage assigned projects from research and drafting through revisions, proofreading, and final delivery.
Qualifications
Required
- At least 4 years of professional copywriting or content-writing experience, preferably within DTC e-commerce or a performance-focused consumer brand.
- Excellent command of written English, with strong grammar, editing, proofreading, and communication skills.
- Experience using copywriting frameworks such as AIDA and adapting messaging to different stages of customer awareness.
- Strong research skills, including the ability to evaluate credible sources, interpret technical information, and communicate it clearly to a general audience.
- Experience writing for supplements, wellness, pet health, or another regulated or claims-sensitive category is strongly preferred.
- Experience maintaining distinct brand voices and applying brand guidelines consistently across multiple channels.
- Practical experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude for research, ideation, and workflow support, with the judgment to verify information and take responsibility for final copy.
- Strong organization, time-management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple brands, projects, and deadlines independently.
- Ability to receive and apply feedback efficiently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting CRO experiments, email marketing, localization workflows, or international content is preferred.
