Native Pet is re-imagining pet nutrition for a new generation of pet parents. We make dog and vet approved supplements to help consumers nourish their pets. We are in high growth mode, scaling across digital and brick-and-mortar channels; including Amazon, Chewy, Target, Thrive Market and PetSmart. We’ve grown at least 2.5x each year since 2017 and have our sights set on $100M in sales. We recently closed Series B funding to scale our operations. We’re rapidly expanding our team to manage the brand growth and are excited to bring in candidates who are interested in CPG x Pet.
Role Overview
Native Pet is looking for a skilled Senior Copywriter who will not only be responsible for writing compelling, inspirational editorial content but also for thinking strategically about how we communicate across channels and touchpoints, including but not limited to digital, print, social media, and marketing collateral. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, a keen understanding of our target audience, and the ability to convey our brand message with clarity and creativity. As a Senior Copywriter, you will collaborate closely with our marketing and creative teams to deliver captivating content that resonates with our audience and elevates our brand. Additionally, you will lead messaging strategy initiatives and help shape the direction of our brand’s voice, tone, and creative execution.
What You’ll Do
- Develop creative and impactful copy for marketing campaigns, advertisements, website content, social media, and other promotional materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers and marketers, to lead the development and refinement of our brand’s messaging framework, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms, channels, and customer touchpoints as well as tailoring messaging based on target audiences.
- Conduct thorough research on industry trends, target audience preferences, and competitor activities to inform and enhance copywriting strategies.
- Collaborate on the strategic direction for the brand. Help shape long-term content plans and identify new opportunities to amplify the brand’s voice and grow its presence across platforms.
- Develop and deliver clear, persuasive marketing decks and presentations to align teams and stakeholders on brand and messaging strategies.
- Revise and edit copy as needed, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging industry trends and incorporate best practices into copywriting efforts.
- If you have experience in TV/Video content, you’ll also have the opportunity to lend your expertise to scriptwriting and conceptualizing TV spots that align with our brand narrative and customer story.
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years experience as a Copywriter for a CPG, health and wellness, or pet brand.
- A strong portfolio showcasing both editorial excellence and strategic messaging.
- Strong background in creating and executing messaging frameworks and brand strategy across a variety of mediums (digital, print, video).
- Experience leading creative initiatives and collaborating with Art Directors, Creative Directors, and other creative partners to bring concepts to life.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, persuasive, and engaging copy.
- Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about messaging.
