Role Overview
We are looking for experienced Senior Book Editors to contribute their expertise to a customer project focused on elevating editorial standards across diverse manuscripts.
The role involves applying editorial expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through high-quality, real-world input. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and enhance book manuscripts with emphasis on clarity, narrative structure, voice, and market alignment.
- Provide detailed editorial feedback and perform line editing, copyediting, and content restructuring.
- Identify inconsistencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in plot, character development, and thematic continuity.
- Contribute to editorial guidelines and best practices to inform AI model development.
- Draft, revise, and polish editorial commentary with constructive and actionable feedback.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders through written and verbal discussions to communicate edits and recommendations.
- Support quality control by reviewing and refining AI-generated editorial work for accuracy and style.
Key Requirements
- Extensive experience editing published books for recognized publishing houses or prominent authors.
- Editorial leadership on notable books, including New York Times bestsellers or award-winning titles, is a significant plus.
- Exceptional command of English language, grammar, and literary style.
- Proven ability to provide incisive, nuanced editorial feedback across genres and formats.
- Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
