Scriptwriter – Spain Revealed – $250 – $1k per script
We’re hiring a freelance, project based scriptwriter for Spain Revealed’s edu-tainment videos!
About Spain Revealed
Spain Revealed is the leading voice for North Americans planning a major life move to Spain. Our content is highly researched, fact-driven, and designed to remove bureaucratic anxiety.
Our audience is smart, mature (in their 30s-60s), and actively planning their move to Spain. They need specific answers, not hype. Your challenge is to capture the conflict and make the viewer feel like they have to click to get the answer James is promising.
About the Role
- Self-Directed Research & Content Distillation: Conduct thorough, self-directed research using primary source materials. Structure and distill this complex information into a seamless, conversational, 10–30 minute video script.
- Authority & Clarity: Ensure the script maintains the Spain Revealed brand voice- warm, conversational, authoritative, and fact-focused, while avoiding jargon, ambiguity, or “clickbait” tone.
- Visual Integration: Clearly outline B-roll suggestions, graphic callouts, and pacing changes to ensure the final video meets our editorial standards.
- Revisions: Implement feedback from the Producer and James in a timely manner.
- Pacing & Structure: Scripts must be structured to maximize viewer retention, logically segmenting complex topics into easy-to-digest chapters, ensuring a strong hook, clear payoff, and powerful call-to-action.
Expected Skills
- Expertise in Simplifying Complexity: Proven ability to take highly technical information (legal, financial, bureaucratic) and convert it into accessible, conversational, and accurate language.
- Impeccable Fact-Checking: You must have an obsessive dedication to primary source accuracy. Misinformation on visa or tax rules is not an option.
- Conversational Tone: Ability to write for the ear (for James to speak), not just the eye (to be read). The script must sound like an intelligent friend sharing critical information.
- Workflow Proficiency: Experience working within project management tools (we use Asana) and shared writing platforms (Google Docs/Notion) is highly preferred.
