Scriptwriter for 2D Animated YouTube Channel | Jose Gomez
We’re building a 2D animated explainer channel. Extreme scenarios, “what if” topics, and things that are stranger than they should be. Videos are 12 to 20 minutes, fully animated. The team has an illustrator and an animator, but the script is the foundation. Everything else is built on top of it.
This is long-term, ongoing work. 2 to 4 scripts per month. Fair pay. If you’re good, you stay.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
You’ve written for animated or storytelling YouTube channels before. You understand audience retention, cold opens, and why viewers drop off. You can write in a voice that isn’t yours: dry, confident, funny without trying to be funny. You think visually and know you’re writing for animation, not a podcast.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
– Complete scripts from scratch (research, structure, final draft). 2,000 to 3,000 words.
– Second person. The viewer is inside the experience.
– Visual direction built into the script: scene descriptions, visual gags, pacing beats.
– Sources for all factual claims.
– Native or near-native English.
