The channel:

Our YouTube channel is called ScreenPuff. We create high quality Netflix-style documentaries about the stories surrounding TV and film. This includes the successes, failures, production, ideas, as well as actors, writers, and directors. As a cinephile myself, I’ve watched and studied countless shows and films for years, and have a passion for it.

My experience:

I’m a Canadian who’s been working in business for over eight years, with a background in consulting, sales, marketing, HR, and operations. I built a book of business from the ground up, growing it to over 100 recurring clients and generating more than $1 million in value — so I understand the level of effort and resources it takes to succeed.

Combining my unique knowledge of the niche, with my business acumen, I’m confident in the results this channel will achieve.

The role:

As a Researcher/Writer, you will mainly be responsible for finding and watching interviews and other sources of footage (mostly on YouTube) and pulling out the most intriguing and relevant quotes, hyper-linking them in an organized fashion.

Initially, the doc template and specific story beats to look for will be given to you. However, as you grow and prove yourself there will be opportunities to take on more responsibility.

Initially the role will be mostly researcher. I will be doing the scripting. As you demonstrate you’ve fully grasped the research part, there will be tons of opportunity to move up and take on more responsibility in doing the writing as well.

Are you the right fit…

We’re not looking for an average, run-of-the-mill employee who’s just in it for the money. We want someone who shares our passion for authentic, high-quality content. Someone with a creative eye and a strong drive to improve. I’m always there to support and help you grow, but I also like to give you space, so the more you can take ownership of the work and the process, the better.

Having a passion for TV & film would make this role a great fit for you. Bonus points if you happen to have a vast knowledge about the space, and have watched tons of TV and movies. Just some of my favorites: South Park, Friends, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Scarface, Fight Club, Forrest Gump, Titanic, Dark Knight, Wolf of Wall Street, Pulp Fiction (anything by Tarantino or Scorsese).

The future…

We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with the channel; someone ambitious, collaborative, and ready to take on more responsibility as we scale, as our company will even continue to spawn additional channels in the future.

Requirement:

– Minimum 30 hrs a week

– 3 to 6 videos per month

Compensation:

Trial rate of $30 USD per video, with raises based on performance
