Proofreader, Robert Half – $22/hr – $31/hr
We are looking for a contract Proofreader to support short-term remote assignments reviewing written materials in the Dutch (Belgium) language for a services environment that requires strong attention to detail. This role is remote and offers project-based work expected to run for 3 days per assignment, with a start in early . The position is ideal for language professionals who can refine content for accuracy, readability, and consistency while handling sensitive information with care.
Responsibilities:
• Review multilingual documents thoroughly to catch and correct errors related to spelling, grammar, punctuation, and layout.
• Verify that each document reads naturally in the target local language and reflects consistent terminology and style.
• Preserve the original meaning and structure of content while improving clarity and overall presentation.
• Complete assigned proofreading tasks within established turnaround times and follow project-specific quality standards.
• Provide timely updates on progress, raise questions early, and communicate any issues that could affect delivery.
• Handle confidential or sensitive materials responsibly and follow all data privacy expectations.
• Use Google Workspace and related tools to manage files, track edits, and support efficient collaboration in a remote setting.
• At least 1 year of experience in proofreading, editing, or document review.
• Business-level fluency in Dutch (Belgium)
• Strong command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting conventions in the assigned language.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting short project deadlines.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and comfort working with digital documents and tracked changes.
