A high-profile global media brand is seeking a strategic Copy Editor to drive content quality, line editing, and production flow across multi-platform channels. Partner with an elite editorial team to ensure flawless execution, narrative accuracy, and maximum audience engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Execute rigorous line editing and structural review across daily editorial pieces, show metadata, and social content to uphold uncompromising journalistic standards.
- Orchestrate continuous copy flow by collaborating seamlessly with senior editors, writers, and fact-checkers under tight production deadlines.
- Manage digital asset publishing by leveraging WordPress to build, format, and maintain high-traffic web pages and features.
- Safeguard editorial integrity and brand voice by applying AP/Chicago styles, legal risk mitigation, and nuanced taste across sports and pop culture coverage.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional copy editing experience within a daily digital publication, media house, sports or newsroom environment.
- Expert command of Chicago Manual of Style and AP Style, with proven expertise in structural editing, grammar, tone, and legal sensitivity.
- Demonstrated track record of performance under tight turnaround times in a high-volume, dynamic publishing workflow.
- Hands-on proficiency with CMS platforms (WordPress) and strong editorial judgment, ideally paired with a deep comfort editing sports and pop culture content.
- Remote but EST and CST timezones are preferred. Possible weekend shifts.
