We are looking for a Part-Time Copy Editor who is bilingual (English & Spanish) and digital-savvy to join our editorial team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about editing online content, ensuring accuracy, and optimizing for digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Edit and proofread articles, headlines, captions, and digital content in English and Spanish.
- Ensure grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style accuracy across both languages.
- Fact-check names, dates, and trending references to ensure credibility.
- Optimize content for SEO, readability, and engagement.
- Collaborate with writers, editors, and content creators to refine copy.
- Apply best practices for digital publishing, including metadata and CMS formatting.
- Maintain HOLA.com’s editorial style, tone, and brand voice.
- Deliver high-quality work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a copy editor, proofreader, or sub-editor in digital media.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required.
- Strong editing skills with attention to detail in both languages.
- Familiarity with AP Style and Spanish editorial style guides.
- Knowledge of SEO, online publishing, CMS platforms, and digital best practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
