Engagement Type: This is a part-time role with two and half days per week engagement.
Job Overview
This role provides writing, editing, and content strategy support across the SkillUp brand, joining the copy team to drive both new content creation and site content quality. The position drafts original content, including blog articles, email newsletters, course/program pages, social and ad copy. It audits and corrects existing site content for accuracy, consistency, and SEO health. The successful applicant will champion the SkillUp brand tone and voice throughout their work, across target audiences, products, and business communications.
Responsibilities and Duties (including but not limited to)
- Drafting blog articles according to a clearly defined brief.
- Drafting email newsletters according to a clearly defined brief.
- Drafting course and program page content according to a clearly defined brief.
- Drafting ad copy for marketing and campaign use.
- Auditing and correcting existing site content, including blog articles, web pages, and course pages, for brand tone and voice, content accuracy, consistency, and SEO health.
- Editing, commenting on, and proofreading blog articles, marketing material, and web content drafted by the copy team and external copywriters.
- Researching information for blog articles, web content, marketing campaigns, and other copy requirements.
- Updating the SkillUp Online task management system, Monday.com, where appropriate.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Education: A bachelor’s degree is preferred, ideally in a writing-intensive field such as English, creative writing, marketing, journalism, or public relations.:
Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of professional writing experience in a marketing environment, with a portfolio of published blogs, newsletters, or web content.
- Experience drafting ad or marketing copy.
- Experience using generative AI applications, such as ChatGPT, to draft copy for a specific audience incorporating a brand tone and voice.
- Working knowledge of SEO and GEO practices, including keyword research and on-page optimization.
- Business or marketing experience in the US market is required.

- Good verbal and written communicator.
- Comfortable writing about technology for marketing purposes (but not a technical writer).
- Comfortable learning to use new applications related to copy and design work.
