Location:
Remote positions are open to applicants based anywhere in the continental U.S. Hybrid positions are open to applicants based in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

Position Summary:
The Manager, Social Media will shape and execute the strategy for brand storytelling, corporate partner marketing, and audience development on the organization’s national social media channels. This role will partner with the creative and corporate alliances teams to manage a calendar of key social media posting priorities and seek new opportunities to expand the brand’s reach. The role is responsible for managing the process and delivery of both brand and sponsor-generated social media content and campaigns for Make-A-Wish organic social channels.
The ideal candidate has a customer service mentality, a deep love for social media, a passion for cause branding and marketing, and the desire to combine those qualities into an exciting career.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the Make-A-Wish America social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, and X.
- Creating, curating, publishing, and managing content across all social media accounts in keeping with the organization’s brand book, as well as adhering to corporate partner branding guidelines.
- Directing an agency that partially assists with corporate content calendaring and posting.
- Acting as a social media advocate across the organization, ensuring social is thoughtfully factored into partnerships, initiatives, and campaigns.
- Collaborate with the corporate team to develop and execute partner pitches, as well as partner campaign activations.
- Conducting routine social listening, community management, and reporting activities.
- Developing and executing a plan for social media engagement of C-suite executives and board members.
- Supporting social media influencer outreach, content planning, and activation support.
- Spearhead innovative content creation and curation plans, including live coverage of wishes, campaigns, and special events.
- Consulting with, advising, coordinating, and helping train social media practitioners at chapters on best practices and presenting a cohesive and unified approach to content.
- Managing high-visibility social marketing campaigns, including any agency relationship management and contract management needed.
- Creating and maintaining cross-functional relationships with chapter counterparts and internal colleagues at the National Office.
- Performing other job-related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Liberal Arts, Business, or related field required.
- 5 or more years of experience required with preference given to candidates with experience in social media, marketing or communications.
- Demonstrated experience on the ins and outs of using Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, TikTok, LinkedIn, and social media management tools.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications, including demonstrated expertise in PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in developing content and graphics.
- Working knowledge of nonprofit organizations is helpful.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to thrive in a remote environment.
- Some travel required, up to 10% for organizational conferences and events
- May occasionally require work outside of the traditional Monday through Friday work week. This includes weekends and early evening weeknights.
