Looking For Book Reviewers / Critics
Love books? We’re seeking a passionate book fan to write about books! This means book reviews, analysis, criticism, commentary, podcasts, and other bibliophilic fun stuff. It doesn’t matter what genre you’re into: fiction, non-fiction, biography, comic books/graphic novels, or anything that strikes your fancy.
Please note this is NOT a full-time position; compensation will almost exclusively be via books, print and digital galleys, media access, mentoring and other industry-level stuff. Also, this is an online position, meaning your work will be submitted online. Keep this in mind before replying.
What We Want: Book Lovers
We’re looking for writers capable of receiving pre-release and commercially published books and galleys, follow-through with assignments, and show a willingness to work with a team of like-minded individuals.
Our ideal candidate is someone with a solid grasp of literature and knowledge of how reviews and editorials work. We partner with many of the biggest publishing houses and our criteria for is simple: have talent, act professionally and be willing to learn. Solid writing and editing skills in English are a must; a college degree isn’t required if you’re able to produce coherent text.
Apart from writing reviews and/or editorials, other duties may include participating in group podcasts, interviewing talent, attending industry conventions and more. We want someone able to receive and turn around great content fast and efficiently, take constructive criticism and learn to work with a team.
Other perks may include press access for new and upcoming books, festivals, events, and other press-only presentations. This is an ideal position for new or established writers to submit, receive crucial feedback and improve their writing skills, and establish a foothold in the industry while expanding their resumes with a reputable website.
What We DON’T Want:
NO spammers will be considered. We’re not looking for aspiring actors, photographers, models or professional social-media marketers. NO SEO CONTENT MILL writers. We’re only interested in passionate writers hoping to review, talk about, and discuss books only. Troll messages will go right to the spam folder.
This isn’t a full-time position, meaning compensation will almost exclusively be gaming/product samples, media access and resume-building. If this sounds like you, great!
