Is it possible to write more in less time? Writing to most people is not an easy task. It consumes a lot of time to create content. The level of effectiveness and efficiency are very crucial for every writer. The question remains how to attain this standard with limited time.

The following tips are essential for one to write more in less time:

Plan each piece of your writing

A quick outline of what you are going to write about is necessary. The key bullet points should be identified and subheadings written.  They may not be catchy at the moment but they make filling the body easier.

Set aside time to write for each piece

The outline you created may not require the same amount of time to fill. This means that you should allocate appropriate time for each piece. If you do not allocate time, there is possibility of spending a lot of time on one piece at the expense of another on your outline.

Start with pieces that are  easier and have enough resources

Some pieces may be more complicated than others and this may make them harder to write faster. When you start with easier parts, it means that too little time will be spent in writing. All the time available may be spent in writing complicated pieces and none is left for other parts.

Study resources first and identify useful parts

Writing more in less time requires research. When you are using sources like books, journals or magazines to create your content, study them first. Highlights the useful parts on your resources and note the page numbers. This will enable you to write faster than when you identify a point and start writing about it before you identify the other one. Writing consumes a lot of time when one start writing before reading thoroughly the resources.

Get the words on the paper and edit later

You may be tempted to stop writing by some clunky sentences and start correcting them. This may consume a lot of time because you are likely to edit every sentence due to typing errors. It is easier to put words on the paper and do editing later.

Avoid wordy sentences

Too wordy sentences may take a lot of time while editing since they may require restructuring. This sometime as what was used in writing. A complete written piece is the one that is error free. Therefore, to write more in less time you need to ensure too little time will be needed in editing.

Take breaks in the course of writing

This is something that we always neglect. We think that sitting for log hours in front of the computer will amount to writing more. Staying on track and writing quality content maybe distorted if one spends a lot of time on the computer, laptop or any other device used for writing. It is worth it to step away from your computer after an hour or so. Doing different things on the computer does not amount to a break. It should be getting completely off your computer and do different things for some minutes then resume writing.
