One of the things that I love of being a freelance writer is the low budget that it requires. No need for a lot of equipment, tools or gadgets and no transportation costs.

Things where still tricky in the initial learning stage though. I had to avoid plunging into expensive courses, eBooks and online subscriptions. Now that the storm has settled, I am stripped of all the clutter and only the solid and bare essentials are left. Although, I still have to work on having that home office with a door that can be locked.

Thank you for sharing your though. There are good and bad things about being a freelancer. It’s impossible to say that freelance work or salaried work is “better” than the other. It depends entirely on our personality and what we want from our work life.

Agreed. The amazing thing about freelancing, as I’ve always explained to friends, is that you can make either $1, $1,1000, $10,000, or more. The question is, how far are you willing to go?

^ this! And it also gives a lovely amount of freedom. For instance, I hate to work in the office. I tried… few times. It’s just not mine. And working from home is much easier for me. What’s more, I can travel as much as I wish (well, if my budget allows me :)) ). All I need is a laptop and at least 3G internet connection. That’s awesome!
