Google Marketing SME (Analytics, Search Console, Publisher)
Our client, a top public university, is seeking an expert to diagnose and fix why their daily news site is no longer appearing in Google News, a channel that was previously a major traffic driver. The marketing team will provide full context and details on what has already been attempted.
Responsibilities
- Audit Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google Publisher tools to identify the cause of Google News visibility loss.
- Diagnose indexing, crawlability, schema, and eligibility issues impacting Google News.
- Determine why articles are not being selected under Google’s automated News system.
- Develop and implement a clear recovery plan to restore visibility and improve search/news performance.
Requirements
- Expertise in the Google Marketing Suite (Google Analytics, Search Console, Publisher tools).
- Proven experience troubleshooting and restoring Google News or publisher-level visibility.
- Strong technical SEO skills, especially with structured data, site auditing, and indexing issues.
- Experience with news, media, or large content websites preferred.
