Freelance Writer (Entertainment)

Twinfinite, a destination for upbeat video game and entertainment guides, news, features, quizzes, and reviews, is recruiting personable and talented freelance writers to help grow out our entertainment sector.

Post types include guides and explainers for the latest TV shows and box office hits, SEO/Top 10 lists, traffic-driving features, reviews of new releases, and breaking news on all things pop-culture, like Marvel, DC, Disney, fantasy, anime, comics, streamers, celebrities and much more!

All applicants must have excellent English writing skills and be self-starters who can complete assigned news, guides, and features in a timely manner without extensive edits and supervision. We require a minimum of 25 posts per month, but you are able to write much more.

We’re a global, digital newsroom, and all work is remote. Rates are $10 for news articles and quick question/answer guides, $20 for explainer guides and shorter features, and $30 for reviews, longer guides and features, interviews, and quizzes. We now have rates up to $50 for specific content types, too! There is no cap on how much you can write, as long as your pitches are approved or you select from our ample list of pre-approved topics.

Competitive applicants will have an expert knowledge on a wide variety of the most popular TV shows and movies in cinemas and on streaming services, anime, comics, streaming personalities and celebrities. Although not required, familiarity with using Google Trends to direct coverage is a plus.

If you’re an expert on any of the following, and possess the ability to cover them on a daily basis through news, op-eds, features and guides, you’ll go to the top of the pile. Please make a specific note of this in your cover letter:

Superheroes (Marvel & DC)
Game of Thrones
Star Wars
Lord of the Rings
Arcane, The Witcher & Gaming-Related Shows
Netflix, Amazon Prime & Disney+ Breakout Hits
Twitch Streamers and Internet Influencers

To be considered:
Submit a resume, a short cover letter detailing your writing experience and your interest in the entertainment industry, and at least two relevant writing samples. Expert knowledge of the above genres is advantageous.
