Ridge View Echo is an independent, nonpartisan, non-profit news source serving communities in Northwestern New Jersey. Awarded a grant by the New Jersey Civic Information Consortium in May 2021, our mission is to provide accurate and unbiased news on local government, school board, and community affairs. With a focus on community involvement, we aim to fill the gap of dedicated local news sources that have been missing for over 20 years in our region. Published bi-weekly, we are accessible through our website, newsletter digest, and social media platforms.

This is a freelance-based position for a Reporter/Writer at Ridge View Echo. The role involves conducting interviews, pitching stories, reporting, writing news articles, covering local meetings and events, and engaging in effective communication. This is a remote position but applicants must be local to the communities we serve in order to fully contribute to the publication’s mission of providing reliable and balanced news to our readers.
Qualifications

- Prior experience in journalism or related field a plus
